Description
Fender Japan JV Series Telecaster, 1983
One of the very early models from the first made-in-Japan Fenders. The neck is dated March 1983.
The guitar started life as a see-through butterscotch colour, but was refinished with white nitrocellulose in the 1980s. The finish is heavily worn, chipped and scarred from 40 years of use.
The body is very lightweight ash.
The neck retains the original factory finish, but has been refretted with medium-jumbo stainless steel wire. The fingerboard is very dark rosewood.
Tuners are replacement Kluson-style.
Scratchplate, bridge plate and switchplate are original.
The pickups, electrics, bridge saddles and knobs have all been replaced.
